The Sunshine Foundation: Addie's Wish

Pizza Ranch held a fundraiser in the honor of Addison a young girl living in Moorhead. Not only did they host the fundraiser, they hosted on of the most touching moments for Addie's family of 5. The Sunshine Foundation aided in this touching moment as well, because without them this moment wouldn't be possible.
The sunshine Foundation was founded in 1976 by Bill Sample a Philadelphia policeman. Its sole purpose is to answer the dreams of children who have been abused, who are ill or who have a physical disability. They are the original wish granting organization and have answered the dreams of over 36,000 children.
I had the pristine privilege to present on the behalf of The Sunshine Foundation a wish to little Addie. Addie has Spina Bifida and has wanted to go to Disney World for a long time. She adores princesses and The Sunshine Foundation wanted to grant her wish. She is going to Disney World to meet all of her favorite princesses.
A huge thanks goes out to the community of Moorhead, the Moorhead Pizza Ranch and Manager Kat, and to The Sunshine Foundation. You are all incredible! I was truly honored to help make Addie's dream come true!!

Concordia Homecoming 2012!!

 Homecoming Parade 2012!!
Myself along with the Cobber Nation!! Go Cobbers!
Riding through the parade in the beautiful truck provided by Muscatell

Concordia College Homecoming 2012 was a booming success!! I had a blast participating in festivities like the bonfire, parade, football game and the Johnny Holms Band dance/concert! The whole week was filled with Cobber gold and maroon! I really was honored to have the opportunity to ride through the Homecoming parade as Miss Moorhead 2012. Muscatell in Moorhead was so gracious to let me ride through on one of their trucks and they even let me use a maroon one! They sure do have some Cobber spirit! And a big thanks to my dad for driving me through and then coming to the football game with me! It sure was a beautiful fall day!

Out Of The Darkness Walk 2012

I had the honor to walk for a cause along with my Teen Queen, Hailey Jutz! We were joined by Miss Perham 2012, Leah Wuebben and the rest of the Jutz family. Our team walked 3 miles for the Out Of the Darkness suicide awareness walk. We were Team Chad Jutz, in honor of Hailey's father. Our t-shirts were purple and had our team name on the back and on the front of them it stated Hailey's platform: Operation Save A Life. It was an emotional day as we joined others on the walk and then shared in listening to stories of others and their loved ones. The day was a complete success! A lot of awareness was raised about this cause and the Jutz family was honored by Frazee police chief.

It was so nice to reunite with these girls!
Miss Vergas 2012 Hope Livedahl, Miss Vergas 2011/Miss Moorhead 2012 Makenzi Kovar, and Miss Vergas 1st runner-up 2012/MRRVOT 2011 Libby Schmidt!
The 3 amigos!!
I have been up to a lot lately! I crowned the new Miss Vergas 2012 on August 9th, Hope Livdahl, a senior at Pelican Rapids! I also competed for Miss Perham on August 10th along with 3 other lovely ladies! I received the 1st runner up position. A week later I moved into college at Concordia College in Moorhead, MN.

On Saturday, September 8th, I got up at 5:30 am showered and had my friends from the 4th floor of my dorm help me with my hair! I am a college student now and have to remember to save money wherever I can! I arrived at Weld Hall at 8:15 am and started to unpack and haul all of my wardrobe and props for my monologue inside. My good friend from the pageant world, Emma Hilgard, helped me haul in my vanity for my talent. She was a trooper!! By 9 am myself along with the 7 other lovely ladies competing for the title of Miss Moorhead, 3 young ladies vying for the title of Miss Red River Valley's Outstanding Teen (MRRVOT), and Miss Moorhead 2011, Ali Vail and MRRVOT 2011, Libby Schmidt were learning our Production Number choreography. We learned our Finale and all of the other walks we would be using throughout the night. We were then treated to a lovely lunch provided by Erberts and Gerberts. And before we knew it, it was time to start getting ready for Interview. After Interview we were treated by the Queen's Committee at Perkins in Moorhead. Siri Freeh, Miss Minnesota 2012, and Bailey Wachholz, Miss Minnesota Outstanding Teen 2012 joined us for supper. When we got back to Weld Hall, the 7 young ladies running for the first ever Red River Valley Princess (RRVP) had arrived and were learning their walks for party dress as the Miss and Teen Miss contestants were getting ready for showtime!

There was a lovely display of talent and beauty throughout the evening and at the end of the night 3 new girls were crowned.

I remember not having any clue who was about to be crowned. And when they announced the 1st runner up, I was kind of in a daze to say the least. I was so proud of Brianna Drevlow and all of her hard work! She was glowing all evening. Then Ryan, the Master of Ceremony, started to announce the winner and Miss Moorhead 2012...Contestant number 6, Makenzi Kovar!!! I remember this feeling of gratitude, accomplishment and utter happiness! I knew that all 8 girls had given it their very best and I was honored to have the crown placed on my head!

I am so very excited to represent my new home away from home along with my Teen Queen, MRRVOT 2012 Hailey Jutz and RRVP 2012 Alexis Moe!!
